Close Orders: When Inventory Actually Gets Deducted

One powerful feature at a time.

Close Orders: When Inventory Actually Gets Deducted

The Problem

You've added items to orders and even prepared them, but your inventory levels haven't changed. When exactly does the system deduct ingredients from stock?

The Solution

Inventory is deducted when you Close an order - not when items are added. Closing marks production complete and triggers the system to calculate and deduct all recipe ingredients from your stock.

How to Use It

  1. Open the order in Kitchen → Orders
  2. Verify all line items are correct
  3. Click Close Order in the toolbar
  4. Confirm in the popup: "This will mark the order complete and deduct all recipe ingredients from inventory"
  5. Ingredients are now deducted from stock

Pro Tip

Close orders when production is actually complete - not before. If you close early and need to make changes, you'll have to reopen the order (which returns ingredients to stock).
