tweaks to app updates

Loving the task options. We have been playing around with them and a couple things that would be helpful.

1. If the person assigning the task can see whether the task was completed - we did find a work around by adding your name to the task as well.

2. When a task is assigned to a position, is there a way for it to show who selected that they completed the task? We see the option for notes which helps. But would be good to be able to see who completed the task.

3. Standing tasks - if a task is not completed, is there away for the task to automatically carry over to the next day? I see I can reassign the date but I might forget or people might not have access to make those changes.

Hi thanks for the suggestions, those are great! I did implement some better notifications for the tasks when they are completed, and it will notify all managers that the task has been completed (even if they aren't assigned the task).

I can get working on adding the names of the employees who completed the task and allow for tasks to carry over, I'll get started on that this weekend.

Thanks again and I'm glad the shift tasks are working for you!

I noticed the notification is via email. What would be great is if the tasked showed in my tasks but who it is assigned to, that way I can see who completed it and their notes. At the moment if I add myself as the task that works as well. The other thing was that if tasks that are not complete stay visible as incomplete and carry on into the next day or until the task is complete.
That would be great for front of house. Where as I see Karen and Emily use tasks more as a reoccurring and don’t tick the tasks as complete.

We also noticed it doesn’t show who created the task or who completed the task.

Ah yeah I see, I was thinking of adding an option (and having it on by default) to have tasks stay active on the employees app until they are completed.

I will add employee names to the shift tasks to show who created the task, and who completed a task to the next app update.

Thanks for your input!

One other thing I noticed is that if I created a task for someone and I add myself as well so I can track the task. It doesn’t show who I assigned the task to

Noted, yeah on the desktop version it shows but not on mobile. I'll get that info into the mobile version and give you a preview this weekend.

Great news, the app updates have been published as of this morning! Your app should auto update within a day or two, but if you want to start using the new features you'll have to manually update your app by heading the app store on your phone, searching BarSight (look for the red icon) and clicking Update. Once done, you should be at least on version 2.5.9

On the dashboard, you can see an icon if there have been comments on a task (grey for read comments, blue for unread comments). clicking on each task will bring your right to the task screen rather then the calendar like before.

On the task calendar page, this screenshot shows a persistent task of 'Complete WHIMS Training' that will stay on the employees dashboard and on their calendar until it is done.

I don't have a screenshot of it, but if you are a manager there is another section below Completed that will show Tasks Assigned to Others so you can see what everyone else is upto.

When viewing a task, everyone can see who else is assigned the task now!

Also just to touch on Persistent Tasks, when creating or editing a task, you'll find a checkbox that will make the task persistent. Otherwise the default option is to just have that task only due on the day it is assigned.

Also forgot to mention the completed task items will show the employees names of who completed the task!

Give these new features a spin and let me know how it works for you!
